Amy Racecar have been making friends and music with the New Zealand public since early 2002. Picking up, dropping and firing many members through various line-ups over the years, Amy Racecar are now down to a core trio of fellas that outplayed and outlasted all the rest.

Comprised of young go-getters, Karl Smith – Bass, Ben Thomson – Drums, Matthew Emery – Voice and Keys, Amy Racecar have now refined their sound from their heady days of chewing through 52 genres in 52 seconds into a new exciting positive form of inspirational song.

With the release of their debut album ‘Conclusions’ in early 2007 Amy Racecar promptly moved over the ditch to lovely Melbourne in Australia and are having a swell time making love and performing music in that great big water forsaken country.

Now it’s time to come back to New Zealand and share the wealth of recent experiences with a whole bunch of new songs based around affairs of the heart and squiggly keyboard sounds.

Phony Bone have got a new bunch of songs! They're going on a tour! With Amy Racecar! It's choice being a band (ever thought about starting one?).

Phony Bone, Auckland's premier Young Adult Contemporary recording artists, know how to write a pop song. In fact, on the evidence of their upcoming second EP, 'Big Ideas', they know how to write a few. In September 2007 they completed their first full-length tour of this fair country, presenting the new songs to much decidedly non-critical acclaim and dancing (especially outside of Auckland).

The band's two singers and songwriters operate from either side of the same line, one generally within his head and one almost always without, while the band's upbeat indie-pop meets them somewhere in between. Produced by Bob Frisbee in the underground bunker of engineer Damian Golfinopolous, 'Big Ideas' and its five tracks will rock your musical boat (wherever you happen to live).
